International country codes are 1 to 4 digit prefixes used to dial fax numbers across borders. The complete list below covers 200+ countries and territories, organized by region. To fax internationally, prepend the country code to the local fax number (drop any leading 0). Faxend handles country code formatting automatically when you select the destination country.
To fax to any country: take the country code (column 2) and prepend it to the local fax number (drop the leading 0 from the local number). For example, to fax to a London number 020 1234 5678, dial +44 20 1234 5678 (drop the 0).

Faxend supports 200+ destinations. Just select the country and enter the local number.
A country code (also called international dialing code) is a 1 to 4 digit prefix that identifies a country in international phone and fax numbering. The plus sign (+) at the beginning indicates international dialing format.
Do I need to dial 011 before the country code from the US?
From a traditional US phone, you dial 011 then the country code. With Faxend's online fax, you don't need 011. Just select the country from the dropdown, and the country code is automatically applied.
What's the country code for the United States?
The United States uses country code +1, which is shared with Canada and many Caribbean countries (collectively the North American Numbering Plan).
Why are some country codes 1 digit and others 3?
Country codes were assigned by the ITU. Larger countries and zones got 1 to 2 digit codes (US +1, Russia +7, France +33). Smaller and later-assigned countries got 3 to 4 digit codes (Andorra +376, Falkland Islands +500).
Do all country codes work with Faxend?
Faxend supports 200+ countries. Some destinations may have specific routing or pricing differences. The country dropdown shows all supported destinations.
What's the country code for the UK?
The United Kingdom uses country code +44. UK numbers typically have area codes that follow (London is +44 20, Manchester is +44 161, Edinburgh is +44 131).
Are country codes the same for fax and phone?
Yes. Country codes are universal for international telephone and fax. The same +49 that dials a German phone also dials a German fax.
What's the cheapest country to fax internationally?
International fax rates vary by destination. North America (US, Canada) and major European destinations (UK, Germany, France) typically have the lowest international rates. Less common destinations (Africa, Pacific islands) often cost more.
Why does the country code start with +?
The plus sign (+) is the international dialing prefix that replaces country-specific access codes (like 011 in US, 00 in Europe). Modern phones and fax services automatically convert + to the appropriate access code for your location.
What if a country has multiple country codes?
A few countries share country codes (US/Canada both use +1, several Caribbean countries also use +1). Conversely, a few countries have multiple codes for different purposes (Kazakhstan uses +7 along with Russia). Use the standard code listed for that country.
Are international fax rates higher than domestic?
Yes typically. International fax rates are higher than US domestic. Faxend pricing is based on destination and page count. Some destinations are more expensive than others.
Can I fax to remote islands or small countries?
Faxend supports most countries with established fax infrastructure. Very small territories or remote locations may have limited or unreliable fax service. Contact support if you have specific destination questions.
