Faxend for Chrome: Send a Fax From Your Browser
Faxend for Chrome is a browser extension that sends a fax from Chrome, with no fax machine, printer or phone line. It opens a side panel next to the page you are on: type the fax number, attach a PDF or photo or fax the page itself, pay with Stripe, and watch the delivery status in the same panel.

What Faxend for Chrome does
The extension is a compact version of the Faxend web sender that lives in Chrome's side panel, so it stays open while you browse and while you pay in the Stripe tab.
- Fax number check. Pick the country and type the number. The number is checked before you pay, so a typo is caught early.
- Attach files. Click "Attach files" or drop PDF, JPG or PNG files into the panel (other image formats are converted). One fax can hold up to 10 documents, 20 MB and 100 pages.
- Fax this page. Sends the web page you are viewing as letter-size fax pages. If the tab shows a PDF in Chrome's built-in viewer, the original PDF file is sent instead of a screenshot.
- Cover note. Add an optional note of up to 800 characters. It becomes a cover page and counts as one page.
- Right-click and shortcut. Right-click any page and choose "Fax this page with Faxend", or press Alt+Shift+F.
- Delivery status. The panel shows sending, delivered or failed, and you also get an email when the fax is done. If the receiving machine is busy, does not answer or declines the fax, the pages go back to your plan so you can try again.
How to send a fax from Chrome in 3 steps
Add Faxend to Chrome
Install Faxend for Chrome from the Chrome Web Store and pin the Faxend icon to the toolbar so it is one click away.
Enter the number and add your pages
Click the icon to open the side panel. Enter the recipient's fax number, then attach your PDFs or photos, or click "Fax this page". Add a cover note if the recipient expects one.
Pay and send
The panel shows the page count and the price. Checkout opens in a new Stripe tab; the fax goes out as soon as the payment is confirmed, and the status appears in the panel. Already bought a plan on faxend.com? Choose "Bought a plan on faxend.com? Use it here" and the fax uses your remaining pages.

Gmail, Google Drive, web pages, PDFs and Chromebooks
A document you received in Gmail
Faxend does not send faxes by email. With Gmail open in Chrome, download the attachment (or save the email itself as a PDF with Print → Save as PDF) and drop the file into the Faxend panel next to your inbox. The full walkthrough, including how to keep the email header off the page, is in our Gmail fax guide.
A file in Google Drive
Download the file as a PDF (Google Docs, Sheets and Slides export to PDF from the File menu), then drop it into the panel without leaving Drive. See how to fax a file from Google Drive for format tips.
A web page or online form
Filled in an online form, opened a statement or reached a confirmation page that the recipient needs on paper? Click "Fax this page". Fixed headers are hidden during the capture and long pages are cut into letter-size pages.
A PDF open in a Chrome tab
When the tab shows a PDF in Chrome's own viewer, "Fax this page" sends that original file, so text stays sharp. PDFs inside another site's viewer (for example a Drive or Gmail preview) are captured as a web page; download them first for the cleanest result.
A Chromebook, Windows PC or Mac
Chromebooks have no built-in fax software, and extensions are the usual way to add tools there. Faxend for Chrome runs the same way on ChromeOS, Windows, Mac and Linux. For other ways to fax from a desktop, read how to fax from a computer.
What it costs
The extension uses the same plans as faxend.com. You pay only when you send a fax; the panel shows the price before checkout.
| Plan | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Faxend Basic | $4.99 one-time | Up to 10 pages, valid 30 days. No subscription. |
| Faxend Standard | $9.99/month | 50 pages a month plus your own US fax number to receive faxes. |
| Faxend Plus | $14.99/month | 100 pages a month plus your own US fax number. |
A cover note counts as one page. Faxes you receive on a Standard or Plus number arrive in your Faxend inbox on faxend.com, not in the extension.
Requirements
- Google Chrome 116 or later on a computer or Chromebook. Extensions do not run in Chrome on phones; on a phone use the iPhone app or the Android app.
- The recipient's fax number, including the country.
- Your document as a PDF, JPG or PNG, or the page open in the current tab.
- A payment method accepted by Stripe Checkout, unless you already have a Faxend plan with pages left.
Privacy and permissions
- Pages you visit stay private. The extension does not read or track your browsing. It reads a page only when you ask it to fax that page, through the toolbar icon, the right-click menu or the shortcut.
- What is sent to Faxend: the fax number, the documents you attach, your cover note and, only when you choose "Fax this page", the page image or the open PDF. They are used to deliver the fax and are not kept on our servers after sending.
- What stays on your device: your unsent draft, your Faxend plan identifier and the status of recent faxes, in Chrome's extension storage. Uninstalling the extension removes them.
- Payments: checkout happens on Stripe's website; the extension never sees your card details.
Details are in the Faxend for Chrome section of our privacy policy.
